Elton John was absent from the stage and concerts throughout the summer. The reason is an eye infection that has partially damaged his vision. As he explains in his status, his sight will be restored, but the process takes time.
"Over the summer, I have been dealing with a severe eye infection and unfortunately it has limited my vision in one eye. I am recovering, but the process is slow. It will take time for vision to return to the affected eye. I am grateful to the doctors, nurses and my family who have taken care of me in the last few weeks. "I spent the summer at home recuperating and I'm positive about the progress I've made so far," writes Elton John.
