Drake passes the Beatles for the top five hits in Billboard history

Drake has surpassed the Beatles for the top five hits in the history of the prestigious music industry magazine in the United States, Billboard.

The 35-year-old Canadian rapper notched his 30th Top 5 hit with the debut of DJ Khaled's Staying Alive featuring him alongside Lil Baby.


Staying Alive debuted at number five on the latest chart dated August 20.

The Beatles fell into second place behind Drake with 29 top hits and were followed by Madonna with 28, Mariah Carey with 27, Janet Jackson with 26, Rihanna with 23 and Elvis Presley with 21.

The rapper released his seventh album in June and became his 11th album to reach number one on the Billboard 200 albums chart.

Drake is the fifth artist with more than 10 albums to reach number one on the Billboard 200 since the chart began being published regularly weekly in 1956 .

The Beatles have a record 19 number one albums, followed by Jay-Z with 14 and Bruce Springsteen and Barbra Streisand with 11 each.
