Documentary about the last days of actress Brittany Murphy's life
A new documentary delves deep into the dubious past of Brittany Murphy's husband, Simon Monjack, who mysteriously died a few months after the actress.
"What Happened, Brittany Murphy?", The new documentary will air on HBO Max on October 14 and focuses on the last days of the "Clueless" star before her shocking death and especially on her relationship with the British screenwriter.
"He was a frustrated individual who was used to cheating people and Brittany was one of his latest victims," ??documentary director Cynthia Hill told People, adding that she had done her research.
The program features interviews with Monjack's mother, Linda, and brother
n, James, as well as his ex-fiancée Elizabeth Ragsdale, who claims in the documentary that he left her pregnant and abandoned her.
Murphy died at the age of 32 at her home in the Hollywood Hills in December 2009. The forensic pathologist in Los Angeles defined her death as accidental and the result of pneumonia, anemia, and multiple combinations of licensed drugs.
In May 2010, Monjack, her two-year-old husband, was found dead in the same house they shared with Murphy's mother, Sharon. The same authorities attributed the 40-year-old's death to acute pneumonia and severe anemia, adding that medication was not a contributing factor. Murphy's death sparked conspiracy theories and criticism of Monjack. Before he died, he said in a statement to RadarOnline: "As the worst man in America, I hope people understand that they should not believe anything they hear and read, and I love my wife today as much as the day when u martova ”.
Make-up artist Trista Jordan, who worked with Murphy on her latest film, will be part of the documentary. "Her eyes were sunken and she just looked so sad," she said, according to People.
