The scientist who created Pfizer: The third dose will be needed
Dr. Ozlem Tureci, co-founder of BioNTech who created Pfizer against Covid-19, explains that two doses will not be enough. According to her, people will have to take a third dose, in the best case, and in the worst case, they will have to be vaccinated every year as they do against the common flu.
"We are constantly seeing indications to reach this conclusion. "There is a gradual weakening of immunity either in those who have acquired it naturally, passing the virus, or in those who have been vaccinated," said the doctor.
Pfizer has provided 91% safety against the virus and 95% effectiveness from not experiencing severe forms of the disease. These figures are valid after receiving the second dose and up to 6 months after vaccination. So far there has been a drop in antibodies, but everything remains to be seen.
If there is a need for a third dose and more, then a greater increase in production is needed.
