A recent study published in BMC Public Health found that drinking coffee may help reduce the risk of mortality associated with prolonged sitting.
All those who sat for more than six hours a day and did not drink coffee had a significantly higher risk of death from all causes, while those who drank coffee had a 33% lower risk of all-cause mortality and a 54% lower risk of cardiovascular disease.
The benefits of coffee have been known for a long time, but its connection with mitigating the negative effects of sitting is new in this study.
