2024 has been a difficult year for Prince William and his family. He has spoken publicly for the first time about the dark period when his wife, Kate, and his father, King Charles, were diagnosed with cancer.
"It was terrible. It has probably been the most difficult year of my life,” he told reporters during his visit to South Africa. “Trying to get through everything and keep everything under control has been really hard. But I'm very proud of my wife, I'm proud of my father, the way they've handled things."
The Prince of Wales said Kate is fine but he couldn't be more relaxed.
"I like my job and I like to tread carefully, making sure I have time for my family as well."
