The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, has refused a meeting with the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, in Paris.
Kurti and Vučič are participating in the Peace Forum that is taking place in France, but the latter has refused to use this moment to talk about the tense situation in the north of Kosovo.
After the meeting with the French president, Emmanuel Macron, Vucic said to the journalists in Paris: "There is no reason to be optimistic with Pristina. I told Macron that we are only asking for status-neutral license plates, as it is in the agreement".
He also stated that he told the French president what the conditions are for the return of Serbs to Kosovo's institutions, but he did not reveal the details.
Before leaving for Paris, Albin Kurti left open the possibility of a meeting with the Serbian President to resolve the situation created due to the decision on license plates in the north.
"During this prestigious forum, there may also be a trilateral meeting with the President of Serbia, who has also been invited there. I am ready and always interested in dialogue for agreement, for complete normalization of relations between the Republic of Kosovo and Serbia, with mutual recognition at the center. We have two proposals on the table: mine for the general framework of the agreement presented at the meeting on August 18, 2022 in Brussels, as well as the Franco-German proposal that has the support of the United States of America and the European Union, presented by the emissaries Jens Plötner and Emmanuel Bonne," said Kurti.
