The Ministry of Health in Northern Macedonia has announced that the case was discovered in Kichevo by a private clinic to a 26-year-old man, who on December 31 had traveled from the United States of America.

"Based on the epidemiological survey, the person in question was vaccinated with two doses of vaccines. "After detecting the infection, the patient is in his home for medical treatment in a stable health condition", it is said in the announcement of the Ministry of Health.

According to the Institute of Public Health in Northern Macedonia, Flurona manifests with symptoms of coronavirus and seasonal flu. No other details were provided.

The first case of a person infected with COVID-19 as well as seasonal flu at the same time was reported by the Israeli Ministry of Health raising many questions about how the two viruses can affect people affected by these two viruses in the same time.

On Wednesday, January 5, 1,375 new cases of coronavirus were registered in Northern Macedonia, while nine new cases with the Omicron variant were detected, bringing to ten the number of people infected with this variant.

The increase in cases, according to the Institute of Public Health in Northern Macedonia, is related to the end-of-year holidays and the non-observance of protection measures against COVID-19.
