The removal of barriers is the number one step to put the Balkans on the world tourism map
How to position the Western Balkans on the world tourist map? This question, and not only, was answered by Majlinda Bregu, as the Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC).
"There is an open question for all of us - how to position the Western Balkans on the world tourist map? And we say that the removal of barriers is the first step ", said Majlinda Bregu.
But what exactly does the removal of barriers mean?
- Enabling the free movement of people in the region.
- Agreement on Free Movement with Identity Cards in the Western Balkans.
- And the Free Movement Agreement for Third Party Citizens within the Western Balkans.
All of the above have been prepared and are ready to be signed.
"These will give a new impetus to tourism. We are often asked what the abolition of roaming tariffs in the Western Balkans did for tourism. The region without Roaming is an opportunity to strengthen the tourist offer and to complement the progressive tourism policies and practices in the region ", said Bregu, reminding once again the importance that #folsinshpi had, within the region.
Today's inter-ministerial meeting brought together the relevant ministers of tourism and not only, in the region. Also present at the event were the Minister of Tourism and Environment, Mirela Kumbaro and the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj.
