The action against smuggling ignites tensions in the north of Kosovo
Kosovo Police has conducted an operation today in several different locations: in Pristina, Peja, South Mitrovica and North Mitrovica, where the smuggling network was hit. It is reported that Serb citizens living in the north of Mitrovica threw stones at the Kosovo police and blocked the road with trucks. Police used tear gas to disperse the crowd.
"Kosovo Police, in the continuation of the realization of strategic objectives for the prevention of criminal offenses, specifically the uncompromising fight against smuggling of goods, today in the early hours of the morning has begun the implementation of a police operation which includes several different locations, which includes four regions of Kosovo such as Pristina, Peja, Mitrovica South and Mitrovica North ", it is written in the announcement.
"All police actions are being carried out in coordination with the competent prosecutions and courts, by whose order checks and raids are being carried out in various locations such as residential houses, business premises, warehouses of goods, etc."
