Veliaj: Salary increase and bonuses for cleaning workers in Tirana

The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, gave the good news today, for all the employees who take care every day that Tirana is clean. Announcing the launch of a large cleaning action by the public company Eco Tirana, which will extend to all areas, even outside the center, that until yesterday were under the administration of private companies, Veliaj said that with the passing of the created emergency, the municipality will increase wages and bonuses for employees.

"What Tirana gave us with a difference of 60,000 votes is this team, this team, these wonderful people. What has changed massively is the way we treat our employees. Our employees have worked for private companies even before, but they worked in the dark. The administrator used to go and take the money from the ATM and only give half to the worker because the other half went to the owners. One of the things we have fought against is the black work of those who do one of the most honest and difficult jobs in the city, cleaning. Therefore, I will continue to try to, after passing this emergency, continue with the salary increase, continue with the bonuses for the New Year, for all the employees of Eco Tirana, who do the hardest work. I am very grateful to all of you in this critical situation we are going through, but I am convinced that as we have managed every crisis, we will manage this one very successfully", said Veliaj.

The Mayor assured that despite this situation, the city will not give up and the work will continue at the same pace as on the first day. "I want us today to lend a hand to each other and to focus especially on the new areas that we have taken over, to overcome this emergency situation, and as the new tools and new boilers arrive, we will continue to maintain the territory, but above all, we will show the city of Tirana that we do not give up, we will work like the first day, and we will make this city sparkle", said Veliaj.
