The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, has become part of the Global Parliament of Mayors.
It is the Global Parliament of Mayors that, through an official announcement, announces this decision, while expressing its appreciation for this cooperation.
The GPM points out that in the past, Mayor Veliaj has also participated in the 2021 and 2022 Annual Summits of the GPM, as well as in the webinars "Strengthening the Safer Cities Strategy by Responding to COVID-19" and "Rethinking the City: how mayors respond to the needs of a post-COVID city.”
The Municipality of Tirana and the Mayor Erion Veliaj are also part of the Association of European Cities of Eurocities, while this year Tirana is also the European Youth Capital.
