With the start of the new school year, the Municipality of Tirana has planned a new regime for traffic circulation, to avoid delays for parents and children during the morning hours. The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj said that the police will recruit volunteers to come to the aid of the citizens, in order to manage the flow in every school. Also, he emphasized that the movement of vehicles that supply stores will be prohibited from 07:00 to 09:00 in the morning.
"On Monday we will introduce the new traffic regime. We will also engage volunteers to help children cross the white lines, in addition to assistance from the Municipal Police and the Traffic Police. At the weekend, we will publish the mayor's order for the morning traffic schedule. In any country in the world, at 7:00 a.m. there is no one driving around bringing potato chips. O get the night before or you can't compete at 8:00 who goes to fast, the kids to school or chips and gummies to the shop. During the time when the children go to school, from 7:00 to 9:00, we will completely suspend the supply cars", said Veliaj.
The mayor also made an appeal for parents who work in public administration, to avoid moving until 09:00 in the morning, since with the new schedule they can show up at the workplace later, it is enough to complete the full schedule . "This year we have an innovation for parents who work in the public administration. The schedule is flexible, which means: A parent can go to work even at 9:00, it is enough to recover afterwards. If there are people who help us in this public appeal, who can go to work a little later, let them help us like that, I would greatly appreciate it", said the mayor.
