A few days ago, Ukë Rugova, the son of the president, Ibrahim Rugova, and his wife, Blerta Rugova, received Albanian citizenship.
Today the entire Rugova family has received Albanian citizenship, including President Rugova's wife, Fana Rugova, daughter Teuta Rugova and his other son, Mendim Rugova.
"It is this red and black flag that, apparently, is just a fabric with a symbol, but meanwhile it carries much more than that, it carries an ideal, a passion, unparalleled sacrifices of people over the years. Today that you are citizens of the Republic of Albania, you are citizens of Tirana, my heart is full of joy and I feel very happy indeed. My work also has challenges, not challenges like those Ibrahim Rugova went through under the difficult days of sacrifices to see an independent Kosovo and a democratic and open Albania, but we have reached this day. I can't wait that as citizens of the Republic of Albania, we will do more beautiful work, more good work, more good work for our nation and our people", said Veliaj during the ceremony.
