Rama in Kiev: Although Ukraine does not recognize it yet, Kosovo has given it full support
At a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Zelensky and Montenegrin Prime Minister Abazovic from Kiev, Prime Minister Edi Rama was asked by reporters if Albania would regret Ukraine receiving the candidate country status through an accelerated procedure.
While emphasizing that it is Ukraine's right to seek candidate status, Rama also drew attention to the case of Kosovo, to show that, “here we are in a well-defined line of what we are and what we represent . ”
"There is a country that Ukraine has not recognized, Kosovo and despite that, it is doing the same thing that everyone is doing with sanctions and full support. So here we are on a well-defined line of what we are and what we represent. So I believe it is the right thing to do. The people of Ukraine need to know now that in the eyes of the EU their future is in the EU family. That's the only thing that means getting candidate status. "
