A Rama joke could cause the resignation of Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevski!
Edi Rama is known for his jokes in Albania, but apparently the Macedonians did not welcome the irony of the Albanian Prime Minister during an informal meeting at the Thessaloniki summit, a joke that was intended to upset the Bulgarians, the state that has set a barrier for Macedonia and consequently Albania for the opening of negotiations with the EU.
During the summit, Edi Rama "introduces" Chancellor Scholz, Kovacevski, as the Prime Minister of "the future western Bulgaria".
Today, the opposition has had numerous reactions on the network against the Macedonian Prime Minister, who according to them has not defended the reputation of the Macedonians and are demanding his resignation.
VMRO-DPMNE leader Vlado Misajlovski, while demanding Kovacevski's resignation, says: Dimitar Kovacevski does not defend, but sells the identity and Macedonia. Another speaks in front of the cameras, and behind them we see how he laughs and agrees to be called Western Bulgaria.
Rama clarified the joke through a reaction on Twitter, saying that he simply ironized the Bulgarian blockade.
"To laugh and cry the hysteria of some in Skopje towards Prime Minister Kovacevski, after the publication of the video of the handshake with Chancellor Scholz in Thessaloniki, where I mocked the ugly blockade of Northern Macedonia by Bulgaria! "Mejhane quarrel between the meatball smoke," Rama writes.
