The media comes out after two hours from SPAK: I have been called as a declarant, but I will maintain confidentiality
The former Minister of Defense, Fatmir Mediu, appeared today at SPAK, without the presence of a lawyer, where he was questioned about the investigation into the privatization of the former "Partizani" complex, according to the media.
After leaving SPAK, in a statement to the media, Mediu stated: I was invited to give a testimony as a person who is aware of an investigation that is the interest of SPAK, I will maintain the confidentiality of the testimony. I was called as a declarant.
The medium was interrogated for about two hours.
The privatization of the 'Partizani' complex is a file that is already in the hands of the Special Prosecutor's Office. He was the head of the Parliamentary group in the SP, Taulant Balla, who in 2020 sued the former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, the former Minister of Defense Arben Imami, other members of the government led by Berisha, Jamarbër Malltezi, the son-in-law of Sali Berisha, direct beneficiary of this property as well as the head of the Albanian army headquarters together with the administrators and shareholders of the two construction companies in that complex. The Special Prosecutor's Office Against Corruption and Organized Crime is investigating the issue of the privatization of the 'Partizani' complex for money laundering.
Former minister Fatmir Mediu is also under investigation for the tragedy of Gërdec, where 26 citizens lost their lives, a matter in which Sali Berisha and members of his family are also under investigation.
