The illusory destabilization of the President

By Plator Nesturi / While we are in the campaign, the political entities have the floor for the offers they have for the electorate and the CEC is not expected to speak. While dealing with the management of the elections, it is normal for the attention to this institution to be exactly on the voting day and further during the counting and announcement of the results. But the accusations of the possibility of manipulating the results with the effect of spreading panic forced the head of the CEC to declare before the end of the campaign. It was the president who issued the accusation that a Unit 10 in the capital, where the vote count will be done electronically, has SP interference in the system to manipulate the result. This is said by a president, especially when by law he must be impartial, not interfere in the campaign or declare publicly in favor of one party, this statement should be taken as a serious and alarming accusation as far as the standard of elections and their distortion are concerned. Because we are not dealing with muffs of politicians in the campaign who can articulate all sorts of untruths to harm the opponent.

Is there any basis for all this, or is it just a slip in the wake of the fierce debate between the president and the prime minister? Celibashi's appearance today denied everything from the smoke. There is no chance to intervene, said the head of the CEC, not only in this unit but in the entire Republic of Albania, calling the system 100% safe and that someone institutionally manipulates it. Rejecting this insinuation for theft, which Celibashi called a statement of politicians, despite the fact that the accusation was made by the president who is also the head of state, calmed not only the public opinion but also dismantled the insinuations that want to raise suspicion in the elections.

To make such accusations, especially by statesmen, must be based on solid information, mainly from specialized institutions. So if raising a panic beforehand that calls into question the legitimacy of an election or its results is based on political interests, it presupposes that the goal is not to preserve the legitimacy of the election, but that there is a destabilization scenario. In this case, it is not only the CEC that is questioned as the state institution that is responsible for the elections, but also the system on which power is based, which is based on the vote.
