One of Princess Diana's most famous dresses is sold for $480,000
It may not be as famous as the "revenge" dress, but this purple dress is also considered one of Princess Diana's most iconic dresses.
It sold in New York on Friday for a whopping $480,000, four times its original $120,000 auction estimate.
Diana wore the dress for an official royal portrait in 1991, and also for an interview with Vanity Fair in the summer of 1997, shortly before her death.
The deep purple dress was part of the fall 1989 collection by Victor Edelstein, who also designed custom clothing for the princess for more than a decade.
