What a woman in her 50s needs in her wardrobe
By the time you hit your fifties, you know a thing or two about your personal style preferences and what works for your body.
Sure, you have your favorite styles that make you feel fantastic, but what do you need to fix to look your best?
Focus on fabrics: “Many women will experience hormonal changes after 50, so the key is to stay fresh. I believe the focus should be on fabrics," says fashion designer Sharonda Grandberry. Great fabric options include cotton, denim and cashmere.
Don't be afraid of color: “The body may change during this time, but that doesn't mean you have to wear black. Explore colors and add color whenever you can,” says fashion designer Nicole Vick.
Don't be afraid of cleaning out your closet: "After you turn 50, get rid of the clothes you don't need just like you get rid of anything you don't need in your life. It's essential to stay fully focused on the future and where you want to go, not where you've been," says Linda Peavy, founder of Cultured Curves.
