A black hole is discovered in our galaxy. 7 times larger than the sun
NASA's Hubble Space Telescope and the European Space Agency (ESA) have found the first direct evidence of the existence of a solitary black hole. The result came after six years of observations: the telescope was able to accurately measure the mass of the body, which is 7 times larger than that of the sun.
The discovery of this black hole, which is about 5,000 light-years away, has allowed researchers to evaluate other data. The team noted that the body is traveling in the galaxy at 160,000 kilometers per hour.
Another research group, led by Casey Lam of the University of California, Berkeley, did not rule out the possibility that the object of Hubble's research was not a black hole but a neutron star.
