Another mass grave was discovered on the outskirts of Kiev, in Bucha. The bodies of 7 civilians, handcuffed, were dumped in a trench.
The investigation has been launched not only to uncover more details about the event, but also to identify the bodies. The decomposition process makes the work even more difficult.
There are currently about 1,200 as yet unidentified bodies in Ukraine. We are working with DNAs. Following family members 'denunciations, their samples are taken and compared with the victims' genetic profiles.
The last mass grave found in Ukraine had 160 victims who had been placed there by Ukrainian citizens. They had dragged the dead bodies from the street, killed by Russian forces, to be placed in mass graves.
