Veliaj inspects the works on the Babrroi Bridge: It unites Tirana and Kamza as infrastructure, but also economy
The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, inspected the works on the Babrroi Bridge, as he announced that it will be open for vehicles in June. He said that he feels happy that Kamza and Tirana will join in infrastructure, which will affect the growth of the economy.
"We enjoy the tourists who come and the money they spend here, but we forget that the city is not built by tourists, but by working people. Most of the working people outside Tirana come from Kamza, Paskuqani and Babrroi. They are people who work every day honestly, mainly in service sectors, in the construction and infrastructure sectors. However, the way Kamza was brought to Tirana was not at all dignified. So, in recent years we have done more yzmet to tourists, so that they can find us as well as possible, and we have 'forgotten' to do yzmet to each other. Today we have reflected and this bridge will unite Tirana and Kamza in a connection which is more than an infrastructure connection, it is an economic connection", said Veliaj.
The head of the Municipality said that after the completion of the bridge, the municipality has thought that on one side of the river there will be a Great Ring, while on the other side a linear park will be created, which will serve all the residents of the area to pass a few hours of peace and fun with children and relatives.
