European country that is expected to make the working week with 4 days!
Belgium is considering making the work week four days long. This news was given to Politiko by a spokesperson of the Ministry of Economy and Labor of Belgium
" The Covid crisis has radically changed the way we work. The idea is to give an employee more flexibility to organize their work week ," the spokesman said.
Greater flexibility in working hours can reduce the number of working days per week, from five to four.
In the Belgian proposal, the number of working hours will remain the same. To take an extra day off, employees must work about 9.5 hours a day, assuming a full-time workload of 38 to 40 hours per week.
According to the spokesman, the consensus on the proposal is growing among the government of the seven-party coalition of Belgium.
The framework for the four-day work week will be created together with industry and trade union representatives. After that, the plan could become Belgian law, although the process could take at least six months.
