This year's February could be the hottest on record, with flowers blooming earlier in places from Mexico to Japan, mountainsides in Europe no longer covered in snow and temperatures reaching to 38 degrees Celsius in Texas.
According to 3 scientists, the average global temperature in February 2024 is expected to be the warmest ever recorded for this month due to climate change and the El Nino phenomenon.
If the data is confirmed, February will be the ninth consecutive month in which the global high temperature record has been broken, according to data from the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
NOAA will release its final February data around March 14.
