Schools in Kyiv will open on September 1
Schools in the Ukrainian capital here will reopen for classes at the start of the school year on September 1.

All were online after Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24.

The head of the education department in Kyiv, Olena Fidanyan, said that checks for explosives and bombs will be carried out and that children who are unable to return to Kyiv can study remotely.

"Areas adjacent to schools will be checked for explosives and bomb shelters in schools will be filled with water, medicine and other necessities. All schools will receive the necessary training with teachers and children on what to do during an air raid alert. Those children who could not return to Kyiv will be able to study remotely," said Fidanyan.
