Can't remember the last time Melania Trump has appeared in public, but finally chose to be by her husband's side at the Republican convention.
Elegant as always, with a red dress and a smile on her face, accompanied by classical music, she took the stage.
Since her husband was first elected in 2016, Melania Trump has broken all the rules of normal American presidential politics. She has not been a typical First Lady.
In the White House during Trump's first term, she was an isolated figure compared to other first ladies, focusing on a narrow set of interests. The US National Archives describes her as an "ambassador of kindness" and an advocate for children's issues.
And since her husband left office, she has refused to be seen by her husband's side on many occasions when the public expected her to be present.
She wasn't in New York when he became the first former president to be convicted of a crime. And she wasn't there when he officially won his party's presidential nomination for a third time on Monday.
This time she had chosen to be by his side.
