Plane tickets in Russia sold out quickly after Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a partial military mobilization this morning.

Flights to countries that still allow Russians to enter without a visa, including Turkey, Armenia, Georgia and Serbia, are most in demand.

Google Trends data shortly after Putin's announcement showed a spike in searches for the Aviasales website, which is Russia's most popular website for buying tickets.

After Putin's speech on Wednesday, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said 300,000 Russians would be drafted as part of the mobilization, adding that the draft would be limited to those with military experience and that students and those who had only served as conscripts would not to be called.

The contracts of soldiers already fighting in Ukraine will also be extended, according to the decree signed by Putin on Wednesday.
