The President of Slovenia: The EU should accelerate the integration process for the countries of the Western Balkans
Slovenian President Borut Pahor today called on the European Union to speed up the integration process for the six countries of the Western Balkans region that are still in talks, underlining that integration will increase security and stability in the region.
Pahor said that the US and Europe support the integration of Albania, Bosnia, Kosovo, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia and Serbia as the only realistic opportunity to close the chapter of ethnic tensions and historical divisions in the region, which makes issue no.1 geopolitical for the continent.
"The integration process must be faster. It would be perfect if all these countries could join the EU at the same time. "Only in these conditions can we put pressure on the region and Europe as a whole to maintain peace, security and stability," Pahor told a joint news conference with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.
