A 13-storey building in Taiwan is on fire. 46 victims and dozens injured
A "fierce" fire has engulfed a 13-storey building in Yancheng, Taiwan, leaving 46 people tragically dead and injuring 41 others.
Witnesses told local media that they heard an explosion around 3 a.m. local time and that the fire was extinguished around dawn.
The Kaohsiung Fire Department in a statement that after completing the search on the 40-year-old building said they had confirmed 46 deaths and that the fire was very wild and caused a lot of material damage.
Authorities have opened an investigation into the cause of the fire, as there are suspicions that there may also be arson.
