Banned from the French capital by popular vote, electric scooters are enjoying their last day in Paris on Thursday, marking the end of five years of controversial use.
From September 1, Paris will become the first European capital to completely ban these self-services.
Since August, the 15,000 scooters have been gradually taken off the streets - only a handful were available on Thursday, mostly in central Paris.
In Paris, around 400,000 people chose an electric scooter to get around in 2022, according to reports.
