The G7 health ministers will hold a meeting today regarding the new Omicron variant of Covid-19 that is spreading all over the world and forcing the closure of borders.
The meeting was organized by the chair of the G7, Great Britain, which is one of the countries with a growing number of this variant.
The Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida, said that he will stop all travel for the new variant,
'We are taking action with a strong sense of crisis'. "The ban takes effect on Tuesday," he said.

The World Health Organization has already classified the risk of the new variant as "very high". The Omicron variant poses a major global risk according to the WHO, and called on countries to take precautionary measures.
Omicron was first discovered in South Africa and in an effort to stop the broadcast, countries have taken swift action to restore travel restrictions. The Japanese move followed Israel, which has banned entry for all foreign nationals.
The US, Britain, Brazil and Canada were among many other countries that imposed travel restrictions.
