Norway changes the rules. Free studies only for students from EU/EEA countries

Beyond the beautiful images of Norway and tourist trips, this country also offers free studies.

Norway is well known for attracting international students, but has recently offered zero-fee tuition to students coming from the EU/EEA and Switzerland.

The EEA are all the countries that are part of the Schengen area, in which Albania is not yet a part.

For a long time, studying in Norway was free of charge for all students. But beware: As of autumn this year (2023), only citizens of the EU/EEA or Switzerland can study for free, while all other students must pay tuition fees.

Also, exchange students from universities in other countries do not pay tuition fees in Norway (but may still have to pay fees at their sending institution).

From autumn 2023, non-European students will be charged.
