Another European country makes vaccination mandatory for people over 60 years

The Czech Republic has decided to make vaccination mandatory for people over the age of 60, as a precautionary measure to curb the coronavirus. The vaccine will also be mandatory for the most vulnerable workers such as medical personnel, police, armed forces and fire brigade.

The decision came as the Czech Republic ranks as the country with the lowest vaccination rate in Western Europe and infection rates are on the rise.

Only 59.6% of Czechs are vaccinated, compared to an average of 66.3%, according to the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC).

The Czech Minister of Health has stated that the decree is expected to be approved next week.
