A thank you for helping during the pandemic, France grants citizenship to 12,000 foreign workers,
France has granted citizenship to 12,000 foreign workers in gratitude for the assistance they have provided to the country during the pandemic period.
It is about the category of employees, such as nurses, sanitary workers, security workers, elderly caregivers.
For these profiles the citizenship procedure was reduced from 5 to 2 years, with simplification of bureaucratic criteria to apply. As a result, out of 16 thousand requests, 12 thousand were accepted.
"These workers responded to the nation's calls, so it is normal for the nation to take responsibility for them, and thank them," said Citizenship Minister Marlene Schiappa.
