In Belgium, the booster dose of the Covid vaccine becomes mandatory
Starting March 1 in Belgium it will be mandatory to apply the booster dose of the coronavirus vaccine 6 months after receiving the second dose.
About 53% of the Belgian population has received the third dose of the vaccine so far.
According to information from the Institute of Public Health, Sciensano, the number of cases and hospitalizations due to Omicron is stable. Also according to published data the average number of hospitalizations per week has increased 43% compared to last week. In terms of lives lost in Belgium this week there has been an increase of 10% compared to last week.
The percentage of the population fully vaccinated with two doses of the vaccine is 76.7%.
