The head of NATO, Mark Rutte, has announced that the military alliance has confirmed that North Korean troops are in Kursk, Russia, a region bordering Ukraine.
Speaking from Brussels, on October 28, Rutte considered this step as a "major escalation" in Russia's war in Ukraine.
According to him, this action signals the "desperation" of the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, after the loss of more than 600,000 soldiers in the war.
"The deepening of military cooperation between Russia and North Korea poses a threat to Euro-Atlantic and Indo-Pacific security," he said.
