Over 200 children abused by members of the Catholic clergy in France / Shocking testimony of 65-year-old: I will die with the trauma of what happened
One of the 216 thousand children sexually abused by members of the Catholic clergy in France has told the media shocking details of the abuse.
"Pedophilia is the perfect crime because it is the only one for which the criminal is sure, or almost certain, that the victim will not report them," he points out.
Christian Dubreuil from Lyon, France, who is now 65, says he was 11 at the time of the sexual abuse.
He was a shy and very studious child.
Dubreuil testifies that his sexual abuser entered the family circle claiming that it would help advance his knowledge. Every Thursday they visited historic sites together.
He recalls being abused in the living room of the house while his parents were working in their shop on the first floor, adding that the abuse lasted for nine months, and started when he was only 11 years old.
"I will die with the trauma of what happened, even though it was more than half a century ago," he confessed.
Christian Dubreuil said he hoped the report would make the Church acknowledge systematic abuses in France.
