Marine Le Pen fails in the French elections. The left makes history

Surprise in the elections in France. The New Popular Front led by Jean-Luc Mélenchon has won a majority of seats in the new French parliament.

The extreme right of Le Pen has emerged as the third political force from contenders to take over the leadership of the government. Macron has managed to recover the party, but it still remains the second force.

In the first speech after the victory, Mélenchon called on President Macron to accept defeat and give the leadership of the government to the left.

Melenchon further emphasized that his force will govern alone.

This is the composition of the National Assembly of France:

The New Popular Front is projected between 171 and 187 seats, the Macronian bloc of the Ensemble 152-163, the National Rally of Le Pen between 134 and 152 seats.
