Bella Hadid's public letter after becoming a bone of contention between Israel, Palestine and Adidas

Bella Hadid has spoken for the first time about the Adidas campaign that became a bone of contention between Israel and Palestine.
The 27-year-old model was part of a campaign to relaunch the brand's SL72 sneakers, which honored the anniversary of the 1972 Olympics.
However, that year's Olympics were turned into the site of a Palestinian terrorist attack on Israeli competitors. Moreover, the presence of Bella Hadid of Palestinian origin was seen as a provocation. The ad sparked controversy, causing the photos to be removed from the internet.
The last one to react after the uprising of Israel, - the reaction of Adidas with the deletion of the campaign and then the boredom of Palestine because Bella was attacked, only because she is Palestinian - is Bella herself.
Read Bella's full statement, which was shared on Instagram, below:
"For those of you who don't know my heart, I want to make sure you hear directly from me the reaction to my latest campaign with Adidas. I would never knowingly get involved in work related to a terrible tragedy. I had no know at all about the historical connection to the atrocious events of 1972. From the bottom of my heart, I would never have participated. Adidas should have known this, but I should have done more research so that too to have realized something and speak out about what I believe is wrong. In this case, everyone's intentions were to do something positive and bring people together through art, the collective lack of understanding on all sides. undermined the process in every form, including anti-Semitism. That will never waver, and I stand by that statement completely.
Linking the liberation of the Palestinian people to such a tragic attack is something that hurts my heart. Palestine is not synonymous with terrorism and this campaign inadvertently highlighted an event that does not represent who we are. I am a proud Palestinian woman and there is much more to our culture than the things that have been said over the past week.
I will forever stand by my people of Palestine as I continue to advocate for a world free of anti-Semitism. Anti-Semitism has no place in the liberation of the Palestinian people.
I will always stand for peace over violence, every day. Hate has no place here and I will forever protect not only my people, but every person around the world," writes Bella.
