Julian Assange has left the UK after reaching a plea deal. He will not go to prison, in the USA.

He is now free and yesterday he left the United Kingdom and the high-security prison in London where he had been imprisoned for five years, WikiLeaks announced today after the news of the plea agreement reached with the American justice system.

Assange is expected to be in the United States tomorrow. The sentence of 64 months in prison has been repaid, after he spent 5 years in prison.

"This is the result of a global campaign involving grassroots organizers, press freedom activists, lawmakers and leaders from across the political spectrum, all the way to the United Nations. This created space for a long period of negotiations with the US Department of Justice, which resulted in an agreement that has not yet been officially finalized. We will provide more information as soon as possible", is written on the WikiLeaks website, where the news about the release of its founder Julian Assage is given.
