Joe Biden meets with British Prime Minister Johnson before the start of the G7
US President Joe Biden, accompanied by his wife Jill, has met for the first time in his capacity as head of state, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and First Lady Carrie. The meeting took place in Cornwall, England, before the start of the G7 summit, and CNN reports that the two leaders may have agreed to reopen the borders and resume flights between the US and Britain, the lines that were interrupted due to the situation of COVID-19.
In the images captured by the international media it seems that the two leaders have discussed warmly, but neither of them has chosen to speak to the media.
"It's very beautiful here, I do not want to go home," President Biden was quoted as saying during a visit to Cornwall, one of the UK's most scenic areas.
