Gabby Petitos's boyfriend 'accepts responsibility' for her murder
Brian Laundrie, the boyfriend of slain blogger Gabby Petito, "accepts responsibility" for her murder in a diary found, according to the FBI. Brian Laundrie, 23, shot himself after Petito was found drowned in September at a camping site in Wyoming. The couple had been on a road trip several months.
Laundrie's body was found in a Florida nature reserve near his parents' home on Oct. 20. Petito's murder, 22, caught the attention of the national media. "The investigation has not identified any individuals other than Brian Laundrie directly involved in the tragic death of Gabby Petito," the FBI Division's special agent said in a statement on Friday.
The FBI claims that during his trip to Florida, Laundrie sent text messages between his cell phones and Petitos in an attempt "to defraud law enforcement by giving the impression that Petitos was still alive." He also used her debit card without authorization.
