Hungary approves use of fourth dose of Covid vaccine, reduces quarantine time

Hungary approves the use of the fourth dose of the Covid vaccine, due to the increase in cases in recent weeks.

"Anyone can take the fourth dose of Covid-19 after consulting a doctor," the Hungarian prime minister said in a press release.

Meanwhile, the European Union drug regulator has expressed doubts about the need to apply a fourth dose and said that there is no data to support this approach, because more information is needed on the new variant.

Chile and Israel are two other countries that have begun applying the fourth dose.

In Hungary, there are almost no restrictions. Schools function normally, but wearing masks is mandatory indoors and on public transport. The government recently decided to shorten the quarantine period from 10 to 7 days.
