Hungary, against the EU for imposing a full embargo on Russian oil and gas
Hungary remains opposed to imposing an EU embargo on oil and gas imported from Russia.
"Hungary's position on any oil and gas embargo has not changed, we do not support it," said government spokesman Zoltan Kovacs recently.
The imposition of a total embargo on two Russian fossil fuels is currently being considered by the EU Commission to be included in the sixth round of sanctions against Moscow.
However, German Economy Minister Robert Habeck acknowledges that there is no unanimous view among the bloc of 27 countries on shutting down Russian energy supplies.
The EC suggests that European countries that meet Moscow's banking requirements could violate EU sanctions.
