Even for a day at the beach house, Biden must account to reporters
If you are in public life, you will be scrutinized, you will be held accountable for every move, even a day off, why, when, where, with whom...
It is as it should work anywhere with people in public office. As in the case of Biden when reporters waited for him in front of his beach house to ask him what he was looking for in a vacation home when he was working.
The President had to explain that renovations were being done at the White House to make it safer, so since he had nowhere else to go, he headed to his home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
Biden even began to explain to the journalists himself since he is often accused of the days and weekends he spends in Delaware.
"By the way, the reason I'm only here today for one day—because I know it's a vacation for you, but no—I'm not. The Secret Service has turned my house upside down in a good way, to make it more sure. So I had nowhere to go and I came to Delaware. I'm only here for a day," he said.
As for the journalist who asked: "Are you homeless?" He replied: "No, I'm not homeless. I have a very nice house, but I'm only here because I can't go to my real house."
