The Biden administration will forgive $7.4 billion in student debt. 227,000 people will benefit from this decision.
Earlier this month, US President Joe Biden announced a student debt relief plan that would benefit at least 23 million Americans.
Biden vowed to seek alternatives to debt relief after the Supreme Court in June blocked his plan to pay off $430 billion in student loan debt.
