The authorities of Capri prohibit the entry of tourists: We have a shortage of water

Due to a failure of the water supply, the mayor of Capri in Italy ordered on Saturday the suspension of the entry of tourists to that island, which is considered one of the most popular in the world.
Without a water supply, it is impossible to guarantee basic services to the thousands of people who come to the island every day during the tourist season, Mayor Paolo Falco said.
Maritime authorities radioed ferries and hydrofoils bound for Capri to return to ports and disembark passengers.
Most of the islands have water only from cisterns, while some areas in the upper municipality of Anacapri are completely without water. The grid is fed only from local reservoirs, which quickly dry up in the absence of supply from the mainland.
Water tankers are expected to arrive on the island to help keep essential services running until regular supplies from the mainland are restored.
