The Arctic could be sea nearly a decade earlier than predicted, scientists warn. Another clear sign that the climate crisis is happening faster than expected.
A new study published Tuesday in the journal Nature Communications found that Arctic sea ice could completely disappear during September as early as the 2030s. Even if the world makes significant efforts to combat global warming pollution today, the Arctic could may still see sea ice-free summers until the 2050s, scientists reported.
