American Airlines plane bound for London returns in the middle of the flight after a passenger refuses to put on his mask
An American Airlines plane bound for London turned in the middle of the flight because of a passenger who refused to put on the mask.
"American Airlines Flight 38 from Miami (MIA) to London (LHR) returned to the MIA because of a disruptive client who refused to meet federal mask requirements," American Airlines said in a statement.
According to the FlightAware flight tracking site, the plane landed back in Miami an hour and 48 minutes after takeoff.
There were 129 passengers and 14 crew members on board. There were no injuries to customers or crew members.
There have already been 151 reports of undisciplined passengers registered this year, according to data from the Federal Aviation Administration as of Jan. 18. Of these, 92 were mask-related incidents.
